Tourism and Aviation to boost cooperation
Chairman of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Van Tuan and
Director General of the national-flag carrier Vietnam Airlines Pham Ngoc Minh
had a working session on the cooperation plan between the two sides on October
5th.
Tourism and Aviation are both key industries of the national economy and have
close relationship. Aviation brings passengers to Vietnam (80% of international
arrivals) while Tourism receives visitors. Based on that interactive
relationship, the two sides expect a tighter cooperation in order to develop
promotional strategies and speed up the development of both industries.
Regarding cooperation in tourism promotion and product development, the two
sides will coordinate to organise important events in Vietnam and abroad;
roadshows to promote Vietnam tourism and aviation; arrange famtrips and
presstrips to Vietnam; promote Vietnam tourism through Vietnam Airlines’ oversea
representative offices…
Several specific actions to be jointly performed were also discussed as follows:
continue to participate in VisitWorldCampaign (initiated by Japan Association of
Travel Agents); prepare to organise a series of events in China to exploit this
rich-potential source market; organise promotional events in France to attract
tourists from Western European countries and Australia.
Hopefully, the cooperation plan would soon be inked and carried out which
contributes to helping national economy overcome the difficult time of the
global economic crisis.
