Exhibition on Vietnam’s border defence

The Museum of the Vietnam Revolution opened an exhibition on the country’s defence of its border and territories in Hanoi on October 6.
More than 300 items, documents and pictures displayed at the museum reflect the Party and the State’s attention to, and the people’s participation in defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation.
The two-month exhibition will also showcase the efforts of border working missions and the results of border demarcation and the planting of landmarks between Vietnam and neighbouring countries of Laos, Cambodia and China.
Pictures of Vietnam’s activities to preserve its sovereignty on the East Sea are also on display.
On the occasion, the museum held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its founding and receive the Ho Chi Minh Order, the second highest distinction bestowed by Vietnam.
Over the past 50 years, the museum has collected and preserved more than 83,000 items, pictures, documents, books and newspapers, including valuable items related to the revolutionary life of President Ho Chi Minh, leaders of the Party and the State, and revolutionary veterans.
Over the past 20 years, throughout the nation’s on-going renewal process, the museum has opened mobile exhibitions in more than 300 localities.
The museum has received five orders, including two Orders of Labour and three Orders of Independence.
