Francophone association helps train divers
The Francophone Association
for Life Science Cooperation and Promotion (AFEPS) has funded a project in Quang
Ngai province’s Ly Son Island to train divers who are expected to provide
first-aid in sea accidents.
The project, which costs VND1.3 billion, will provide fishers with techniques of
accident-prevention and first-aid, as well as rescue equipment.
It also helps train medical workers for the treatment of sea accident victims.
There are about 3,000 fishers in Ly Son island district, working on 356 boats.
Accidents take place at a very high rate, causing serious physical consequences
to victims.
The project will begin in March after being approved by the provincial People’s
Committee.
