Discovering Hanoi’s ancient quarter
Heading into the 1,000th anniversary celebrations
of Thang Long-Hanoi, the Eveil Center in Hanoi has organized three outdoor
activities called ‘My Hanoi’ for interested people of all ages to discover the
special features of the ancient quarter of Hanoi such as architecture,
traditional craft villages, history attached to the noble feats of arms of the
capital and discuss philosophy with Confucian scholars, artists and artisans.
Especially, participants will join graphic depiction activities and traditional
games at destinations stated in the program.
Hanoi’s ancient quarter comprises 36 streets and was born together with the
ancient citadel of Hanoi under the Ly dynasty in the 11th century. These ancient
streets have witnessed nearly ten centuries of historical events. Each house in
this area has contributed to the architectural history of the quarter.
People interested in these activities should contact the Eveil Center at A18,
Lot 12, Dinh Cong New Urban Zone, Hoang Mai district, Hanoi or call 04 3640 6059
or 04 3640 1031. Single tours are VND225,000 per person and all three tours are
VND625,000 per person. Prices include transportation by car, tickets for
sightseeing, three meals, insurance and other fees. Each tourist will receive a
VCD, a diary and pictures as souvenirs. The deadline to register for the first
tour is Saturday.
