Citadel in Khanh Hoa to be restored
An old citadel in Khanh Hoa, recognised as a
national historic relic, will be restored by the province’s Department of
Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The restoration will cover only the citadel’s gates and rampart, with the aim of
retaining its original integrity.
Dien Khanh Citadel, constructed in 1793, has a a total area of 36,000sq.m, and
its hexagonal-shaped rampart is built with earth.
It once had six gates, but now only four remains, including the Tien (Front),
Hau (Behind), Dong (East) and Tay (West). The latter two were restored in 2003.
