Gong photos exhibited on 6th Oct in Hanoi
A photo exhibition on the gong culture of the
Central Highlands of Vietnam will open to the public on November 6th at the
Vietnam Ethnology Museum in Hanoi.
The activity is organised by the Vietnam Culture and Art Institute.
On show are about 90 photos, taken by French people from the 1930s-1960s,
reflecting the life of ethnic tribes in the Central Highlands in the past and
the development of gong culture in the region.
With the support of Ms Christine Hemmet, expert of Quai Branly Museum in Paris,
the exhibition is divided into four sections, namely: Introduction of a gong
orchestra; Gong playing skills; Ceremonies with gong performance and New
development of the gong culture.
The exhibition will last until February 7th, 2010.
