Hung Kings on a pedestal
Hung Kings on a pedestal
Eighteen statues of the Hung Kings, the mythical
founders of the Vietnamese nation, will be installed in Pleiku’s Dong Xanh
(Green Field) Park as part of activities held to mark the 2009 International
Gong Festival to be held in Gia Lai Province from November 12 to 15.
Ha Noi sculptor Ha Tri Dung has used steel and concrete to make the 3.25m high
statues.
The veteran said they are his homage to the 18 kings.
They cost the Gia Lai Culture and Tourism Company more than VND600 million
(US$33,000) to make. .
