Privately owned art, culture centre seeks seal of approval
A seminar to propose Ha Noi city authority to
recognise the private art and cultural centre known as Viet Phu Thanh Chuong as
a participant in the 1,000th anniversary celebrations of capital Ha Noi was held
in Soc Son District with the participation of the city’s Department of Culture,
Sports and Tourism and 55 representatives from tourist agencies.
The 10,000sq.m Viet Phu Thanh Chuong has become a popular tourist spot. It has
attracted visitors, not only due to its beautiful landscaping and buildings, but
its collection of Vietnamese dynastic artefacts displayed here.
"Viet Phu Thanh Chuong is owned by my family, but it has a wider cultural value.
Therefore, it should be recognised as a tourist site with the right to sell
tickets as other places. This will offer two advantages: the city has a spot to
introduce Vietnamese culture and we also have money to preserve it," says the
site owner, artist Thanh Chuong.
