German director presents over 100 photos to Vietnam
Professor Guenter Giesenfeld, Chairman of the
Germany-Vietnam Friendship Society, has handed over more than 100
black-and-white photos taken by German director Vasco Filipov to Minister
Counsellor Bui Manh Cuong at the Vietnamese embassy in Germany.
Mr Giesenfeld also presented many pictures drawn by Vietnamese children and
collected by the German director to Mr Cuong in the city of Marburg on November
11.
He said photographer Filipov, who is seriously ill and has lost the ability to
speak due to Parkinson’s disease, has carefully preserved these souvenirs over
the past years. Mr Filipov was very glad to have Mr Giesenfeld pass these
pictures, photos and their negatives to Vietnam along with some celluloid films
to be sent soon.
Professor Giesenfeld, who is familiar to many Vietnamese, has made many
contributions toward strengthening the ties of friendship and solidarity between
the peoples of Germany and Vietnam.
