Quan Chuong Gate to be restored
The Hanoi People’s Committee has officially
approved the plan to restore the Quan Chuong Gate, Hanoi’s last remaining
ancient city gate.
The Quan Chuong Gate was built in 1749 during the Le Dynasty.
The US Embassy’s Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation granted VND 1,35
billion to the city of Hanoi to preserve the gate.
This preservation project is part of the 1,000th anniversary of Hanoi’s
foundation.
