Hanoi hopes to attract 1,3 million international tourists this year

      The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hanoi announced on February 23rd, in a conference on the implementing of this year’s tourism plans, that Hanoi hopes to attract 9,87 million tourists in 2009, including over 1.3 million international visitors, and around 7.67 million domestic tourists, an increase of 12% compared to that of the previous year.
According to experts, despite facing a number of difficulties, Hanoi’s tourism sector stil has have several advantages that will help the city create various new and different kinds of tourism products to serve the increasing demands of tourists.
In addition, the city’s tourism sector will also has a good opportunity to strengthen its tourism promotion activities, as it will be the host of the National Tourism year 2010 and the organiser of a ceremony to mark 1,000 anniversary of the foundation of Thang Long – Hanoi.
