An Giang Lures Nearly 4.8 Million Visitors
An Giang province attracted nearly 4.8 million
Vietnamese and international visitors in the first 10 months of 2009, up 15% in
volume and 20% in revenue from a year earlier - the highest growth ever. The
number of international visitor arrivals climbed 50% year on year.
These achievements resulted from the active cooperation of An Giang with other
provinces in the Mekong Delta region and Cambodia. Besides, the province also
introduced new tourist services such as eco-tourism in association with origin
point discoveries, religious tours and agriculture tourism.
An Giang has effectively invested and exploited its local potentials to develop
spiritual tourism in Nui Cam Mount (Tinh Bien district), organise Via Ba Chua Xu
Nui Sam festival in Chau Doc town, and expand original point discovery tours in
Tuc Dup tourist site (Tri Ton district), My Hoa Hung tourist site - the
birthplace of late President Ton Duc Thang, the second president of Vietnam
(Long Xuyen city).
In 2010, An Giang will continue coordinating with other Mekong Delta provinces
and Cambodian border-sharing provinces of Kandanl and Ta Keo, expanding
investment for Nui Cam Tour Land project executed by Phu Lam Co., Ltd; Tra Su
Mount tourist site invested in by Sao Mai Construction Corp - An Giang; Van Mai
Huong tourist site invested in by Cam Loan Private Enterprise to serve more
visitors. The province expects to attract 4.5 million visitors in 2010.
