Tour into Salt Village
After watching salt production technology,
tourists will soak in brine of between 40 degree Celsius and 50 degree Celsius
for a rest. Tourists will find pleasure after a long journey. Although bearing
hard, salt workers earn the lowest income compared with other
agro-forestry-fishery careers. Seeking new ways such as building tours into salt
villages is to improve living standards for salt workers.
Many people may select salt production is the hardest career among
agro-forestry-fishery careers. Salt workers work hard under the blazing sun on
their salt ponds. The number of grains of salt crystallised in the ponds is
equal to the number of bead of sweat on salt workers’ shirts. Salt workers are
always anxious about the weather. Over the past three years, salt workers across
Viet Nam have had to stand consecutive losses of revenues. Climate changes and
regular rains have caused losses for salt workers. Revenues that they have
reaped were equal only to a third from the average level last years despite of
their wholehearted efforts. The unstable life has forced salt workers to find
other jobs to maintain their life.
However, salt production career will have a huge development potential if
applied feasibly because salt production can produce many other products.
At a recent conference, a representative from the Ministry of Agriculture and
Rural Development said that salt production could produce many other products
such as brine (a healthy kind of crystallised salt water with between 40 degree
Celsius and 50 degree Celsius, containing rich of mineral substances); as well
as mineral water produced from sea salt (a sort of drinking water better than
normal others). Japan is currently using the ion dyalising and reciprocating
technology to produce a special drinking water named Nigari helpful for health
and skin, especially fat and dietetic people.
Viet Nam is boosting building tours into salt villages as well as salt tour
villages so as to help tourists discover traditional and modern salt production
technologies. With these tours, tourists will see how salt workers produce a
grain of salt in their salt ponds by different traditional and modern
technologies. Tourists can see with their own eyes the hard that salt workers
have to experience in salt production by traditional technologies as well as the
important role of science and technology in salt production.
After watching salt production technologies, tourists will soak in brine of
between 40 degree Celsius and 50 degree Celsius for a rest. Tourists will find
pleasure after a long journey. Brine will help tourists recover their health.
After the bath, tourists will enjoy Nigari mineral water produced from sea salt
with over 100 kinds of mineral substances, helpful for the health, especially
fat and dietetic people. It is easy to absorb Nigari mineral water. At the end
of the tour, tourists will visit souvenirs and enjoy seafood.
According to analysts, all of salt villages can build salt tour villages to
bring more income to salt workers. This kind of village needs to exploit
Specific characteristics of each salt village. Many provinces in Viet Nam are
targeting the kind of village.
