Research to organize traditional festivals in ancient quarter and around Hoan Kiem lake

On December 16th, in Hanoi, Hoan Kiem district People’s Committee coordinated with the Thang Long – Hanoi Cultural Heritage Association to organize a seminar on research to organize traditional festivals in ancient quarter and around Hoan Kiem lake.
The project aims to preserve worship and sacrifice offering rites in Hanoi’s ancient quarter and around Hoan Kiem lake.
Scientists and researchers discussed the necessity to organize traditional festivals in Hanoi’s ancient quarter as well as shared experiences in organization of other festivals in the district.
14 specific festivals of 10 precincts in the ancient quarter will be reinstated. Three new festivals, including the ancient quarter Mid-Autumn festival, the jewellery traditional trade festival in Hang Bac street, and the traditional medicine in Lan Ong street.
Hanoi’s ancient quarter is managed by Hoan Kiem precincts and was recognized as a national historical relic in 2004. It was established and developed together with the development of Thang Long – Hanoi.
