Paradise of Wind and Sea in Central of Vietnam
For years, Khanh Hoa - the land of frankincense, is becoming an increasingly
attractive tourist destination in Vietnam as well as the world. Nha Trang Bay is
known as one of the most beautiful bays in the world but it is also a very
popular rendezvous during public holidays or summer vacation.
Close to the nature
Khanh Hoa province is not only famous for the hospitability of the people
and pleasant temperate climate but also for its many romantic and poetic natural
landscapes such as Dai Lanh, Nha Phu Lagoon, Van Phong Bay, Doc Lech, Thap Ba,
Hon Chong, Tri Nguyen Island, Hon Tre, Hon Tam, Yang Bay, Suoi Tien and Hon Ba.
Nha Trang Bay, which glorifies Nha Trang City, the capital of the province, was
admitted as a 29th member of the Club of Most Beautiful Bays in the world. The
Khanh Hoa coastline stretching over 385km and featuring smooth white sand is
enhanced by over 200 islands to create a sparkling coastal tourist city. In this
fashion, Khanh Hoa tourism industry thrives. The local tourism industry is
identified as one of the top-tier tourist centres in the country with many kinds
of tourist attractions: maritime ecological tourism and touring islands together
with discovering forests are very attractive to tourists.
Nha Trang is now not only a golden silky sand strip stretching along the beach
and wave crests filling the horizon but is also the home to a series of service
bases, hotels and restaurants. Together with these, many cultural activities and
festivals are beautifying Nha Trang in particular and Khanh Hoa in general. Many
large projects of country-level or world-class ecotourism, resort, entertainment
have been developed and put into service such as five-star Hon Ngoc Viet resort,
five-star Sunrise Hotel and Rusalka-Bai Tien Resort and Golf Court. Song Lo
Tourist Resort and Evaron Hideaway at Mandara will be soon put into service. To
date, many projects have been invested in Bai Dai - Cam Ranh Bay and Van Ninh -
Van Phong Bay. No matter what you are doing: surfing the sea, playing with water
motorcycle, water-skiing, canoeing, sailing boats; all sea sports are very
attractive. Thus, since 2008, amid difficulties facing the country because of
the global financial crisis and economic recession, Khanh Hoa still ensures
stable economic growth. Tourism revenue in the first six months of 2009 alone
exceeded VND756 billion, up 13 percent over the same period of the previous
year. The consumer service revenue totalled VND17.3 billion, up 21.4 percent
year on year.
Unlocking hidden charms
The brand name of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism has been gradually promoted
on the tourism map in Vietnam and in the world. For years to date, Nha Trang of
Khanh Hoa has hosted many national and international events such as the Miss
Universe 2008, Miss Vietnam and especially bi-annual Nha Trang Sea Festival,
which attracts a lot of friends far and wide to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, a
civilized and friendly destination. However, the tourism industry of Khanh Hoa
province still has many limitations needing to be addressed in order to become a
top-tier tourist-attracting destination. Hence, Khanh Hoa has adopted various
measures to spur the tourism industry like investing and upgrading the tourist
centre of Nha Trang to become a first-class urban zone and the most beautiful
bay in the world, applying strict regulations to maintain and protect the
environment, imposing severe punishments on violations and raising the public
awareness of a civilised and modern tourist city and a “green - clean -
beautiful - civilised - safe - friendly” urban zone. Besides, the province will
also teach students at all levels to protect environmental resources and tourism
environment.
At the same time, the province will enhance general advertisement activities and
coordinate with local enterprises to launch separate campaigns. In addition, the
province will form new tours, improve tour quality, serve traditional tours,
facilitate the people to access to capital sources to recover and build
traditional craft villages and souvenir production units across the province,
create products of local fine-art sea products like, bamboo items, fashion
products, etc. to meet the needs of the local people and visitors, create jobs
for the people, increase foreign currency revenues, etc.
