Antiques relating to Dong Son, Sa Huynh cultures discovered
Objects discovered at an archaeological site in Nghi Xuan District in Ha Tinh Province provides evidence that people lived in the area approximately 2,000 years ago, said Nguyen Manh Thang, head of the archaeologists of the Viet Nam History Museum.
The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Viet Nam History Museum have finished a third excavation project at the site and discovered many ancient tombs relating from the Dong Son (700-100BC) and Sa Huynh (1000-700BC) eras.
Archaeologists will carry out work on the 100sq.m area until next April with the hope that more will be learned about these two ancient cultures.
