Vietnam and Singapore cooperates in by-sea tourism
The Singaporean Tourism Department and businesses will visit Vietnam in the
first quarter of 2010 to survey local potentials for maritime tourism, according
to Vietnamese tourism officials.
This is the second survey to promote tourism cooperation between the two
nations.
During the visit, Singaporean officials and businessmen will carry out
investigations into the coastline between Nghe An and Da Nang, said Chief of
Travel Office, Vu The Binh.
“Singapore will help Vietnam find out suitable locations to build tourist
seaports and later back Vietnamese partners in running the tourist ports and
attracting international tourists to Vietnam,” he noted.
Vietnam is seen as a nation with large potential for the development of sea
tourism, yet visitors traveling to Vietnam by sea make up a small proportion,
with less than 100,000 international tourists arriving in Vietnam by sea in
2009.
