A rural feature of Tet in Hanoi
A traditional Tet market is opening at The Garden
Trade Center in My Dinh, Tu Liem District, Hanoi, giving tourists and locals a
chance to discover the Tet atmosphere in a rural area.
This is one of the cultural activities to welcome the Year of the Tiger and to
mark the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
The traditional Tet market also offers craft village products such as Phu Vinh
bamboo & rattan handicrafts and Dong Ho paintings and is a place to learn to
make traditional products. Other activities such as calligraphy writing, making
to he (sculptured figurines fashioned from colored rice dough), dap nieu dat
(breaking earthenware pots), throwing darts, fortune tellers and bau cua ca cop
(children’s game with picture dice), are available.
The market opens till February 7.
