Mekong Delta River’s tourism turnover increases

The Mekong River Delta Tourism Association reported in 2009, in spite of a sharp decrease in the number of foreign tourists, the regional tourism industry still enjoyed a turnover increase.
Specifically, provinces and cities that increased their turnover were An Giang, up 38%; Kien Giang, 28%; Can Tho, up 11.6%; and Ca Mau, up 6.5%.
The Mekong River Delta Tourism Association will continue in 2010 to develop tourism a contributor for area’s economy, establish a managing board for delta and sea island tourism to leverage potential, and coordinate with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry to organize tourism training courses for agents.
