Sinh village’s wrestling festival opens in Hue

Visitors flocked to Lai An village in Phu Vang district, Thua Thien – Hue province this morning, February 23, to attend the Sinh village’s wrestling festival.
This traditional festival has been in existence for over 400 years to promote a sporting spirit, physical training and a lucky year for wrestlers.
Before the wrestling festival, the organizing board run through rituals at the village temple, performed by the village’s patriarchs. Over 150 wrestlers from the surrounding areas attend the festival. To enter the semi-final round, wrestlers have to win three consecutive matches.
