New Year meeting in Denmark marks 1,000 years of Thang Long-Hanoi

More than 200 Overseas Vietnamese, Vietnamese Embassy staff in Denmark and Danish friends attended a meeting to mark the Lunar New Year Festival and the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Vu Van Luu briefed the participants on the country’s socio-economic achievements and external activities as well as the Communist Party of Vietnam’s policies and the Vietnamese people’s determination to reverse the global financial downturn.
He highlighted new developments of the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Denmark, especially after a visit to Denmark by Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and a visit to Vietnam by Danish Queen Magrethe II.
The Ambassador praised the active contributions made by the Vietnamese community in Denmark, including their donations to Vietnam.
The Chairman of the Denmark-Vietnam Friendship Association and Danish friends congratulated Vietnam on its achievements and its rising position in the global arena, and expressed their belief in the traditional ties between the two states.
