North, Center and South to meet in three-day Hue festival

A festival sponsored by Thua Thien-Hue province will celebrate 50 years of Hanoi-Hue-Saigon friendship on March 24-26.
Officials, former officials, outstanding businessmen, heroic mothers and veterans from all three cities will participate. The Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the three cities will organize spectacular music shows during the three days.
On March 24, a photo exhibition of Hanoi-Hue-Saigon and a book exhibition celebrating the 35th anniversary of the liberation of Thua Thien-Hue and 50th anniversary of Hanoi-Hue-Saigon brothership will open. On March 25, a ceremony will be held at the King Quang Trung monument. Afterward, officials of the three cities will sign cooperation agreements on economics, culture and tourism. This event will be televised live in the three cities.
On March 26 a big meeting will be held to commemorate Hue’s liberation by the People’s Army of Vietnam thirty-five years ago. On the same day, a workshop on Hanoi-Hue-Saigon will take place at the International Convention Centre, Hue city.
There will also be boat races, Hue song performances and, in the evening, releasing lanterns on the Huong River.
