Solutions to Old Quarter of Hanoi preservation to be discussed

A seminar on “Preservation and sustainable development of the Old Quarters” will be held on March 27th by the Urban Architecture and Planning Institute, University of Civil Engineering, the Old Quarter Management Board and three Japanese specialists representing three universities in Japan.
During the seminar, participants will discuss measures to preserve the real landscapes of Hang Buom, Hang Giay, Ta Hien and Luong Ngoc Quyen streets, and how to recreate the scenery of the Old Quarter and ongoing and new projects to be carried out in the Old Quarter.
In addition, proposals to improve the Old Quarter, based on surveys conducted from 2003 to 2009, will be raised by researchers.
Notably, the seminar is an occasion to review the three year cooperation programme on Hanoi Old Quarter preservation between Vietnam and Japan.
