Indochina Airlines head office vanishes

Many clients are worried by the abrupt closure of the head office of troubled Indochina Airlines at 5 Dong Da, Tan Binh district, HCM City.
On March 24, the building’s manager told Tuoi Tre newspaper that Indochina Airlines relinquished its lease on March 15. A driver was hired to transport the firm’s furniture to a new address on Ba Huyen Thanh Quan street in, District 3. Arriving there, the driver only found an announcement that address, saying that the office had been moved to 5 Dong Da!
Contacted by the paper, Indochina Airlines general director Ha Hung Dung said that he doesn’t know where the head office is either. “I’m only a shareholder of Indochina Airlines,” Dung said.
Tuoi Tre placed calls to the airlines’ managing director, the PR manager, the hotline and office number but nobody answered. Even the firm’s website was inaccessible.
On the same day, the vice chief of the Civil Aviation Administration (CAAV), Lai Xuan Thanh, said that the agency is still waiting for Indochina Airlines to explain its new plan or measures to deal with its debts. CAAV revoked the company’s operating license on January 27.
Many ticket agents and clients complain that they still haven’t been given any information from the airline about refunds of airfares and ticket deposits.
Huong, from the Doc Lap Agency in Tan Phu district, HCM City, said that this airlines owes her company around 25 million dong and another agent in Tan Binh district 30 million dong.
In a January 28 letter to CAAV, Indochina Airlines managing director Le Hong Pho listed three addresses to receive client complaints in the north, the south and the central region, including the 5 Dong Da address in HCM City.
