HCM City to celebrate Liberation Day by fireworks
HCM City will let off fireworks at six places,
from 9-9.15pm on April 30, to celebrate the Liberation Day.
Many other activities will be held to commemorate the country’s unification day
(April 30) in the city.
Exhibitions of photos and documents about HCM City’s achievements over the last
35 years will take place at the Lam Son Park and HCM City Youth Cultural House.
Museums in the city will organize exhibitions about the Ho Chi Minh Campaign and
historical items in the War of Resistance against the US.
The Ministry of Defence and HCM City Party Committee will hold a workshop
entitled “Great Victory in Spring 1975 – The Power of Unity in the Age of Ho Chi
Minh,” and will present the title “Hero of the Armed Forces” to some people and
organizations. They will also launch a writing competition about HCM City in the
last 35 years.
The Festival of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups will be held at the Cultural Park of
Ethnic Groups. Park 23/9 will host the Tourism Festival 2010 and a music
festival. The HCM City Youth Union will organize various activities at
industrial zones on April 30 and May 1 to serve workers.
HCM City Television Station and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism
will organize a national cycling tournament named HTV Cup 2010. A marathon
attracting 10,000 people will take place on April 30.
