The Vietnam Museum of History and the Ha Tinh Museum started the restoration of a cannon dating back from the age of King Minh Mang in 1821 on April 6.
Artisan Tran Ngoc Tri, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Jewellery Vocational Training Centre is in charge of the restoration.
This is one of the three ancient cannons found at the Cam Nhuong seaport, Cam Xuyen district in the central province of Ha Tinh in August 2003.
