Australian gifts for the 1000th Hanoi anniversary
The Australian Embassy in Hanoi will introduce the
unique culture of aboriginal Australian to Hanoians via “Australian gifts for
Thang Long-Hanoi 1000th anniversary” from April 14-18.
The program will take place at many sites around Hanoi.
A talk about the arts of aboriginal Australian with Australian painter and
storyteller Jeremy Donovan, who also plays didgeridoo the traditional musical
instrument of aboriginal Australians), will take place on April 14-15 at the
Central University for Art Teacher Training and the Hanoi University of
Industrial Arts.
On April 16, audience members will learn and practice hip-hop dancing with an
aboriginal Australian hiphop troupe at the Australian Embassy. This is a
talented young troupe that successfully mixes aboriginal culture with modern
hiphop.
On April 17-18, major activities will be held, including a photo exhibition of
Balgo people at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology and an outdoor music show and
festival at the Hanoi Friendship Cultural Palace.
Free tickets are available at the gate of the Australian Embassy.
