Vietnam invites Japan to join 1,000th birthday of Hanoi
Vietnam has asked Japan to continue helping the
country preserve the Thang Long Citadel and join hands with Vietnam in events
celebrating the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh made the proposals while
meeting Japan-Vietnam Special Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro in Hanoi on April 15.
The events include a football championship along with puppet, circus and film
festivals.
At the meeting, Anh also spoke highly of cooperative ties between Vietnam and
Japan in culture, sports and tourism over the past years.
For his part, Ryotaro said he agreed with the proposals and told Anh that
Japan’s Ibaragi province will organise a study tour to Vietnam for its
high-school students in an effort to promote Vietnam’s image among Japanese
teens.
