Vietnam and Japan promote culture and tourism exchanges
The strengthening of Vietnam-Japan culture and
tourism cooperation dominated the working session between the Vietnam Minister
of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh and Japan-Vietnam good-will
ambassador Sugi Ryotaro on April 15th in Hanoi.
Minister Hoang Tuan Anh highly appreciated the bilateral cooperation between the
two countries in this field and pointed out that Japan has so far created
favourable conditions for youths of different countries to visit and have
exchanges with young Japanese people. Besides, Japan also has much experience of
preservation of historical relics.
The Vietnamese Minister asked Japan to continue assisting Vietnam with the
project on Thang Long Royal Citadel Preservation. He also encouraged the Japan
Embassy in Vietnam to actively participate in activities marking the 1,000th
anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi, such as 1,000th year Thang Long-Hanoi Football
Cup, International Puppetry Festival and International Film Festival.
Minister Hoang Tuan Anh also hoped that Vietnam and Japan would carry out
specific activities to further promote bilateral cooperation in culture and
tourism.
For his part, Japan-Vietnam good-will ambassador Sugy Ryotaro agreed on the
host’s suggestion and recommended measures to increase the number of Japanese
tourists to Vietnam. He said Ibaragi province of Japan might send students of
12th grade to Vietnam to explore the country’s culture and tradition.
Minister Hoang Tuan Anh welcomed the suggestion by the good-will ambassador.
