Thang Long dragons exhibited in HCM City
Around 3000 artefacts, made in different shapes
and sizes of Vietnamese dragons, are on display at the Vietnam History Museum in
Ho Chi Minh City as of April 17.
Under the title “Dragons return to Thang Long”, the display resulted from joint
efforts made by the city museum, nine provincial museums and 32 individual
collectors across the country.
The highlights of the exhibition are some Vietnamese unique artworks called Chin
Rong (Nine Dragons), Long Ham Chau (Holding Pearl Dragon) and Luong Long Tranh
Chau (Two Dragons fighting for Pearl).
The shape of dragons may change with the passage of time but the original
meaning remains unchanged, showing the Vietnamese people’s overwhelming desire
to make the country become powerful and prosperous.
