Vietnam to launch tourism campaign in Japan
One hundred gigantic posters showing images of the
Vietnamese country and people will be hung in 45 subway stations around Tokyo in
2010, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).
Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Director of the Market Department of VNAT, noted
that, besides the subway ads, Vietnam will also have big poster hung at the
Vietnamese consulate in Osaka.
Huong stated that a big budget has been allocated to promote Vietnam tourism in
2010. Together with attending famous annual tourism trade fairs, VNAT will also
organize roadshows in three big cities of China, as well as Russia, Australia
and Western Europe (the UK, France, Germany and Belgium).
In 2010, travel firms will not have to pay to attend tourism trade fairs, while
VNAT will cover expenses and assist travel firms to build booths at the trade
fairs.
Huong revealed that VNAT will invite for bids to choose enterprises that
implement projects. This method has been carried out for tourism programs in
Russia, China and Germany.
The Government has agreed to spend 40 billion dong to promote tourism and 31
billion dong on the national tourism action program.
According to VNAT, the sum of money, besides the aforementioned programs, will
be used to advertise Vietnam on television or to organize competitions for a new
slogan and logo for Vietnam’s tourism in the development period of 2011-2015.
