Vietnam Aircraft Leasing Company received first ATR 72-500 airplane

The Vietnam Aircraft Leasing Company (VALC) has received the first of five ATR72-500 airplane under a contract between the company and France-based Avion de Transport Regional (ATR).
VALC also transferred it to the Vietnam Airlines Corporation (VAC) following a leasing contract between them. The other four airplanes are expected to deliver in June, September, October and December this year.
The ATR 72-500 is one of the most recent developments of the ATR 72 manufactured by ATR. This is a twin-turboprop short-haul regional airplane with seats up to 78 passengers in a single-class configuration and is operated by a two-pilot crew. It is a very popular airlines vehicle for aviation services providers worldwide by using environmental - friendly technology.
Over the past 20 years, VAC has successfully used ATR 72 planes in passenger transport on its domestic routes.
Besides buying five ATR72- 500 project, Mr Tran Long, VALC General Director said it is running two other big contracts of purchase ten Airbus A321-200 and eight Boeing B787 aircraft with the total investment of 2.5 billion USD.
