Experts discuss plan to manage Ho Citadel
Heritage experts recently discussed a plan to
manage the Ho Dynasty’s Citadel in central Thanh Hoa Province.
The management plan is crucial to the citadel’s bid to be recognised by UNESCO
as a world cultural heritage site.
Experts said efforts would focus on preserving and promoting the citadel and its
surrounding environment.
The Ho Dynasty’s Citadel in Vinh Loc District was the capital of Viet Nam from
1397 to 1407. Built of stone, the citadel is largely in its original form.
It comprises the La Thanh, a bamboo hedge, a moat and an outer wall. It is
connected to the Tay Thai Mieu, Dong Cung and Nhan Tho palaces by marble-paved
roads.
