Tours for April 30 selling out fast
There are still a few days before Reunification
Day and Labor Day on April 30 and May 1 but most domestic and overseas tours are
going to be sold out.
Travel agencies seem to have stopped accepting registrations. Fiditourist
stopped registrations a month ago after accepting bookings from 6,000 tourists.
Saigontourist also said that their overseas tours were full. Ta Thi Cam Vinh,
manager of the outbound section of Ben Thanh Tourist, told the Daily on Monday,
"We received four guests for the tour to the Philippines and two for the tour to
Cambodia, while tours to Hong Kong, China and Malaysia stopped registrations."
For Thailand, most domestic travel firms canceled tours due to the country’s
politic crisis, Vo Tien Tan from Youth Tourist JSC told the Daily, "We had to
cancel three Thai tours on the national holidays." Ben Thanh Tourist will
organize only one tour to Phuket, departing on Thursday. Tours to European
countries on the national holidays will go as planned after airlines re-opened
flights that were suspended due to the volcanic ash clouds over Europe.
According to domestic tourist companies, the number of tourist registering for
tours this year has increased 20% year-on-year, and now there are only a few
places left for tourists to choose. Doan Thi Thanh Tra, marketing manager of
Saigontourist, told the Daily, "Tourists this year registered for tours
departing on national holidays rather soon, so most of the tours are full."
Tran Long, director of Viet Media Travel, said that because the national
holidays fell on the weekend Vietnamese people had four days to rest and tours
to the north and the central had attracted more tourists.
