Tourism plan targets affluent visitors
The 2010 tourism stimulus programme includes the
Impressive Viet Nam Grand Sale 2010 plan, which is a promotional programme that
is targeting tourists who have already visited Viet Nam and overseas Vietnamese.
According to Viet Nam Administration for Tourism (VNAT)’s general director
Nguyen Van Tuan, the goal of the programme is to increase the number of
tourists, while targeting affluent travellers that are planning on staying in
the country for several days. The programme aims to attract 4.2 million foreign
tourists and 27-28 million domestic visitors in 2010.
VNAT will join forces with the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Trade Promotion
Agency and the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines to implement the programme
in August and September in big cities such as Ha Noi, Da Nang and HCM City.
