Sen Village festival 2010 to be held
The Sen (Lotus) village festival will be held on
national ceremonial from May 15 to 20 in Vinh city, Nghe An province to mark the
120th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long
– Hanoi.
The festival will include various activities such as a flower offering at the Ho
Chi Minh Square and a parade, a procession and an incense offering ceremony
which will take place in the relic site of Kim Lien village.
The festival will also be featured with traditional cultural events, including
dragon and lion dances, bamboo pole dance, gong performance, a culinary
festival, a mass art performance by 20 art troupes from provinces and cities
nationwide.
A seminar on co-operation in developing tourism in the northern central
provinces of Vietnam and exhibitions of photos, fine art works and propaganda
posters praising President Ho Chi Minh will also be held.
The opening ceremony of the festival, which will take place on May 18 at the Ho
Chi Minh Mausoleum and the area of the Ho Chi Minh Monument, will be broadcast
live throughout the country.
