Fireworks to mark President Ho’s birthday
Fireworks will be set off on May 15 as part of Sen
Village Festival 2010 to mark President Ho Chi Minh’s 120th birthday.
According to the director of the provincial Department for Culture, Sports and
Tourism, Cao Dang Vinh, the 2010 festival, named after President Ho’s
birthplace, is held to express the nation’s respect and gratefulness to Uncle Ho
and to promote the image of Nghe An to domestic and international friends.
A variety of activities will be held during the event from May 15-19. A flower
offering will be held at President Ho’s monument in Vinh and his portraits will
be carried from Vinh to Sen village.
There will be photos and painting exhibitions as well as films on the former
President. Twenty amateur art troupes will perform at the festival, and national
and provincial sport competitions will take place.
On the occasion, the Ho Chi Minh National Politics Publishing House, the Party
Central Committee for Education and Training and the National Academy of
Politics and Administration on May 11 introduced new publications of valuable
documents on President Ho Chi Minh’s life, revolutionary cause and example of
morality.
