Thai Nguyen Culture and Tourism Week 2010 opens
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and
the Thai Nguyen People’s Committee on May 18th opened the Thai Nguyen Culture
and Tourism Week 2010 and inaugurated an outdoor display area at the Museum of
Vietnamese Ethnic Cultures.
The culture and tourism week will feature 12 activities organized in the Museum
of Vietnamese Ethnic Cultures, the Coc Mountain Lake Tourist Site, the ATK Dinh
Hoa Tourist Site, and other sites in Thai Nguyen.
During the event, more than 800 artists from Thai Nguyen, Ha Giang, Cao Bang,
Son La, Bac Ninh, Soc Trang, Ninh Thuan, Tra Vinh, Kon Tum, Quang Nam, Danang,
and Hanoi will perform folk songs, dance and music featuring cultural identities
of the north, centre, and south of Vietnam such as Dao Thuc puppetry from Hanoi
and Quan Ho Folk singing from Bac Ninh.
Other activities will include an exhibition displaying photos of President Ho
Chi Minh in Thai Nguyen Province, a gastronomy exchange among the three regions,
a traditional customs performance, and a tea culture exchange.
The event is held to welcome the success of the first Vietnam national ethnic
minority congress, the 120th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, and the 1,000th
Thang Long – Hanoi anniversary.
The event will close on May 21st, 2010.
