“Dances of ethnic minority groups” competition opened
The Vietnam Dancers’ Association, in cooperation with the Department of Performing Arts, opened a competition, “Dances of ethnic minority groups”, for professional choreographers on May 22nd at the Au Co Art Center, Hanoi.
Accordingly, 44 dances featuring typical beautiful traditional dances of ethnic minority groups choreographed by famous choreographers, such as the People’s Artist, Le Ngoc Canh, and the Eminent Artists, Le Huan, Bich Thao and other young choreographers will be introduced during the competition.
The competition, according to the People’s Artist Chu Thuy Quynh, head of the Vietnam Dancers’ Association, aims to find out new artistic works with clear ethnic materials and based on traditional dances from 54 ethnic groups.
The event is also to encourage young choreographers to bring their creativeness into life, meeting the demand of dance-lovers.
