Famous director to chair Hue Festival’s key event
Director Le Quy Duong will be responsible for
arranging the “Night at Royal Palace” festival on June 5, 8, 11 at the Hue royal
palace, which will rebuild the live in the Nguyen Dynasty’s royal palace.
The famous director will also design the “Legend of Huong River” festival in
combination with the Centre for Preservation of Hue Ancient Citadel Relics on
June 6 and 12 on the Huong (Perfume) River; the Nam Giao ceremony (in honour of
the sky and earth) on June 6; and the festival called “Itinerary to Develop the
Country”, the key event of Hue Festival 2010 on June 10.
Assistants to general director Le Quy Duong to arrange the “Itinerary to Develop
the Country” festival will be famous artists, including choreographers Truong
Van Hai, Bach Hac, Thu Huong Mai Trung, musician Dai Dung, Dao Tan tuong troupe
and the martial art-music troupe of Quang Trung museum from the central province
of Binh Dinh.
At the same time, the Hue Royal Art Theatre is mobilizing 1000 professional and
amateur artists to serve Hue Festival 2010.
Director Le Quy Duong revealed that, besides the unique arts of Hue, he will
also use installation arts and modern decorating arts to highlight the hidden
beauty of Hue’s culture.
The famous director will also be responsible for an experimental drama show
entitled “Fire Moves Away” by young artists from Australia and an electronic
music and video art show named EPA by famous Australian musician Darrin Verhagen
at the Hue CulturAL House on June 7-9.
