Vietnam, Cuba boost culture and tourism cooperation
No forces can set obstacles to the traditional
solidarity, friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, said Vietnamese
and Cuban officials.
This was shared by Vice President of the Ministers’ Council of Cuba Jose Ramon
Fernandez and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Hoang Tuan Anh
in Cuba on June 1.
During their meeting, the Vietnamese minister informed his Cuban host of the
results of his working sessions with relevant Cuban agencies aimed at bolstering
bilateral cooperation in culture, sports and tourism.
Minister Anh also briefed the Cuban leader of Vietnam’s political situation and
its socio-economic achievements made in the recent past.
The Cuban leader conveyed warm greetings from President Raul Castro to
Vietnamese Party, State and Government leaders and people and expressed the
Cuban people’s admiration for the Vietnamese nation’s braveness to fight for
independence and freedom.
He also thanked Vietnam for supporting Cuba at international forums where
Vietnam demanded the US lift embargo and blockage against Cuba.
The same day, Minister Tuan Anh held a working session with Cuban Tourism
Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz on the signing of a tourism cooperation programme
between the two countries in the 2010-2013 period.
On the occasion, a Vietnamese film week opened in Cuba in which many
prize-winning films, like Dung Dot (Don’t burn), and Chuyen cua Pao (Pao’s
story), were screened.
