Hue kites to fly in Ha Noi

Students and kite enthusiasts in Thua Thien - Hue have made some 1,000 kites for flying at the Hue Festival that opens later this week. Later, in October, they will be taken to Ha Noi to be flown during the capital’s 1,000th anniversary celebrations.
The kite-flying will be organised by the Hue Kite Club and more than 200 students from the Hue College of Arts. While the students have made simple kites, artists from the club have make more complicated ones shaped like cranes and butterflies.
The kite caravan will come to a end in Nghe An Province and the ancient capital of Hoa Lu in the northern province of Ninh Binh. Kites from Hue have been flown at five festivals in France and Malaysia.
