HCM City annual travel expo to open in September

Around 150 international travel firms and 20 provincial departments of tourism will take part in Vietnam’s largest annual travel event, the International Travel Expo 2010, to be held in Ho Chi Minh City from September 30 to October 2.
The 6th edition of ITE HCMC, themed “Three Countries – One Destination,” will include a tourism exhibition, buyer-seller meetings, a golf tournament, a tourism investment forum, the Tourism Alliance Awards, and familiarization trips.
Local and international exhibitors are expected to set up 236 booths at the venue, the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center in District 7, compared to 156 last year, Thoi Bao Kinh Te Sai Gon Online (Saigon Economic Times Online) reported.
ITE HCMC is an annual event held to promote tourism in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.
It is held by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the HCMC Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam Trade Fair & Advertising Joint Stock Company, and Singapore-based event organizer IIR Exhibitions Pte Ltd.
Last year it attracted tour operators from 21 countries, including Canada, Hungary, Poland, and Russia.
