Russia assists VN in cinematic training
The Director of the Russia
National Cinema School (VGIK), Vladimir Malyshev, former Deputy Minister of
Culture, Director of the Russian Movie Agency, said that Russia will continue
assisting Vietnam in the training of human resources.
Speaking at a talk about Russian-Vietnamese movies on March 7, Malyshew said
that in the meeting with Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism
Hoang Tuan Anh, the two sides agreed to asked the two governments to continue
cooperation in human resource training for Vietnam’s movie industry, through
providing scholarships.
Accordingly, in 2009-2010, Vietnamese students will be enrolled in directing,
script-writing, painting, filming, voice recording, etc. classes at the VGIK
(average school fees of $8,000/year).
At the talk, the two sides agreed to produce a historical documentary film about
Vietnam based on thousands of documentaries shot by former Vietnamese and
Russian students at VGIK since the 1950s which are archived at VGIK.
VGIK will participate in Russian film weeks in Vietnam and Vietnamese film weeks
in Russia.
Two Russian TV series will be shot in Vietnam in cooperation with the Liberation
Film and the Vietnam Feature Film.
