Hue Festival on show in villages
For the first time, the organisers of Hue Festival
sent domestic and international art troupes to serve people living in remote
villages and this has proven to be an excellent idea.
Thousands of villagers from communes Phu Da, Phu Xuan, Phu Luong etc. gathered
at Phu Vang District Cultural Centre hours before the performance of Russia’s
Raduga – Divertisment & Flamingo, on June 9th. The number of the audiences was
so great that the distance between them and the artists was as narrow as a white
painted line on the ground.
Raduga - Divertisment & Flamingo is a special combination of three dance groups,
including dancers from 4 to 26 years old in Khabarovsk City. They brought to Hue
Festival 2010 “Love from Russia” – the main theme of the Divertisment classical
dance group. Meanwhile, the modern Flamingo and Rainbow groups of Khabarovsk
Youth Dance School performed classical ballets as well traditional and modern
dances.
Besides the performances shown in the Russian music, Raduga - Divertisment &
Flamingo surprised the Vietnamese audiences when its two young artists danced in
the tone of the song “Returning to the countryside”, composed by Vietnamese
musician Pho Duc Phuong. This performance is like a message, conveying the love
from the Russian friends to Vietnam.
“The language of the Russian contemporary dance combining with Vietnamese music
will convey our message to you,” said Irina Mukhamadiepva, head of the
Divertisment Art Troupe.
The Russian performance was the first international art performance in the area
so that every villager was curious, eager and applauded continuously, regardless
whether the show was taking place or already ended.
Villager Tran Dinh Long from Phu Da commune said that every festival had
international performances but these were only available on television.
“This is the first time I have seen them by my eyes. I am very happy,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mai Thi Thanh, a village girl who was sitting on the brick floor,
said: “The Russian friends were beautiful and danced so well. I wish they’ll
come here every year.”
The enthusiasm from the audiences also made the Russian artists feel moved.
“This is the first time we’ve been to Hue. We performed at the opening ceremony
at An Dinh Palace Theatre. However, this is a special theatre that made us feel
moved,” said Irina Mukamadiepva.
“Our artists performed better with higher esteem because they were encouraged by
the audiences,” she added.
