Discovering Japanese arts in HCM City
The “Future journey: Japan’s new generation of
fine arts” exhibition opened at the Labour Culture Palace in HCM City on June
12. This is the first time Japanese contemporary artworks have been introduced
to Vietnamese audiences officially and in a large-scale event.
As many as 42 contemporary art works by 11 Japanese artists are on display at
the exhibition. The works, including paintings, sculptures, installations,
photographs and video clips, focused on the daily life, highlighting the
artists’ own sentiments and philosophies.
The exhibition is jointly organized by the Japanese Consulate-General in HCM
City and the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam.
Artworks are inspired by daily life, and they reflect the characters of each
artist.
The event is scheduled to last until June 21.
Before going to HCM City, the exhibition was held in Hanoi from May 14-24.
