''Dragon Festival'' to be held to mark 1,000 years of Thang Long – Hanoi
Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung
who is also the head of the steering committee on the celebration of 1,000 years
of Thang Long – Hanoi has agreed with the Spanish Embassy in Hanoi to hold
“Dragon Festival” program to mark capital’s millennial celebration.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is responsible for working with the
Hanoi City People’s Committee and relevant agencies to adopt the script and
create favourable conditions for the Spanish Embassy to perform the program.
The Spanish Embassy in Hanoi will hold the “Dragon Festival” program in October
at the square in front of the My Dinh National Stadium.
The Dragon Festival is the combination between the musical language and
aesthetics with the inspiration from legends on Vietnam’s dragons and Spain’s
flame.
Dragon is a legend in close to the proclamation on moving capital by King Ly
Thai To in 1010 and flame is the aspiration for artists in traditional festivals
held annually in the Mediterranean.
As directed by Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung, activities
marking 1,000 years of Thang Long – Hanoi will be recorded as documentary films.
