King Tu Duc’s tomb to be restored
A group of experts from the
Germany Conservation, Restoration and Education Projects organization are making
a survey at the tomb of King Tu Duc in the central city of Hue.
This is the start for a project to preserve and restore the outside part of the
above architectural work, which is scheduled from late March 2009 to mid-2010.
The fund for this project, EU 109,000, will come from the heritage preservation
program of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and VND 300 million from
Vietnam.
The results of this project and the project to restore the wall paintings in An
Dinh Palace in Hue City, which was also funded by Germany, will be introduced at
an exhibition which will travel through five big cities in Vietnam in 2010,
sponsored by the German Foreign Ministry.
