Northwestern Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival unveiled

     The event will take place from March 28-31 in the northern mountainous province of Lai Chau for ethnic groups in six provinces in the region.
According to the organizing board, the festival will include various activities such as music and art performances, exhibitions, traditional festivals, shows of traditional costumes of ethnic minority groups, folk games, a contest for tour guides with the topic “The Beauty of the Northwestern Region,” and a workshop about developing tourism in the northwestern region.
A fair with between 200-250 stalls introducing craft products and traditional musical instruments will be held during the festival.
The opening ceremony will be aired live on the Vietnam Television (VTV) and the Radio Voice of Vietnam at 8:00pm on March 28.
On March 27, more than 1,000 people will join a mua xoe, a traditional dance of Thai ethnic group, which will be recognized as a national record.
