“Swell Times” contemporary art exhibition
An exhibition of American artist Rania Ho and
Malaysian Roslisham Ismail will open at San Art, 3 Me Linh, Binh Thanh District,
HCM City on July 1.
The exhibition entitled “Swell Times” will examine the idea of perfection in a
world where advertising, the media, fashion, and technology dictate what people
need and want.
Rania Ho will contribute a video clip, an installation work, and seven photos,
while Ismail will introduce five collage works combining photography and
paper-cut art.
Rania Ho, who holds a Master’s degree in interactive art from New York
University, has won a number of honors, including “Honorable Mention” at Prix
Ars Electronica and ArtFuture Festival in Taiwan in 2000.
She has conducted solo and group exhibitions in the US, Asia, and Europe and is
one of the co-founders of Arrow Factory, a Beijing storefront art space.
Ismail is a conceptual artist whose works range from videos, prints, and
watercolors to photography. His pieces center on his personal experience in
urban communities and human culture and have been exhibited in Japan, Australia,
Indonesia, and Turkey.
The exhibition will close on August 5.
